PURCHASED BIKE NEW IN AUGUST 2018 AND HAS LESS THAN 1K MILES. UNEXPLAINED LEAK HAS DEVELOPED NEAR AIR INTAKE. LEAK IDENTIFIED NEAR THE END OF JANUARY 2020. REAR BRAKE IDENTIFIED TODAY AS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE BUT BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR IS FULL. NO ERROR MESSAGES OR SYSTEM FAILURE ALERTS INCLUDING A MALFUNCTION OF THE ABS SYSTEM WAS CAPTURED BY THE BIKE'S ELECTRONICS. I IDENTIFIED THE REAR BRAKE FAILURE DURING MY PRE-RIDE INSPECTION ON 2/17/2020. HAVE CONTACTED A DUCATI AUTHORIZED DEALER IN MY AREA FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND RESOLUTION.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 DUCATI SUPERSPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD TO BLEED THE REAR BRAKES THREE TIMES WITHIN THE PAST YEAR. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINE RAN TOO CLOSE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKE CABLE HAD HYDRAULIC FLUID IN IT, WHICH BECAME HOT AND CAUSED AIR TO ENTER. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE REAR BRAKES TO MALFUNCTION.
