The contact owns a 2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the braking system suddenly activated causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate when another vehicle passed by. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on two separate occasions while being overtaken by another vehicle on the passenger’s and driver’s sides. The brake pedal can easily become disconnected from the electronic brake booster behind the firewall. When this happens, it stops all driver aids. The safety issue is it can happen while driving, and if using adaptive cruise control, or GM super cruise, if one pedal driving is on, it can without warning substantially slow the car, and has the potential to cause an accident. Its not too far to think the dislodging can cause the boost arm to be placed in a position to prevent full brakeing either. I have not taken it in because it is a design f…

2027 CHEVROLET BOLT – SUDDEN FORWARD LURCH / PROPULSION EVENT WITH MULTIPLE COMMUNICATION FAULT CODES While driving my new 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, I was stopped at a traffic light. When the light changed, I applied the accelerator gently to move forward. The vehicle suddenly produced a loud bang or clunk and lurched sharply forward.
