Owner report 10456370 · 2012-04-24 (April 24, 2012)
ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARS AND STATES THAT IF ENGINE TURNED OFF IT MAY NOT RESTART. SO FAR IT HAS ALWAYS RESTARTED. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT IT MAY BE DUE TO NEEDING A BATTERY REPLACEMENT, WHICH COULD CAUSE MIXED SIGNALS BEING SENT TO COMPUTER. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND THE LIGHT DIDN'T TURN ON FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT NOW IT IS COMING ON AGAIN. THE CAR HAS ONLY. *TR

AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO A BODY SHOP FOR SOME WORK TO BED DONE (NEW CARBON FIBER HOOD INSTALLED AND CARBON FIBER REAR DEFUSER), THE CAR SAT AT THE SHOP FOR 2 WEEKS BEFORE ANY WORK BEGAN. WHILE SITTING THERE, THE BATTERY DIED. WHEN THE SHOP CHARGED IT, THE RED ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK FAULT CAME IN THE DASH AND IT WILL NOT START. I DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH MOST BMW 2007 MODELS. SOME CONSUMERS HAVE TAKEN THEIR CARS TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIR AND THE DEALERSHIP WOULD TELL THEM THEY NEED TO REPLAC…

Owner report 10825062 · 2016-02-09 (February 9, 2016)
WHILE DRIVING ON A MULTI-LANE DIVIDED EXPRESSWAY AT 65MPH SUDDENLY THE ENGINE STALLED AND SHUT DOWN WHICH FORCED A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION. OTHER CARS DID NOT HAVE AMPLE TIME TO SLOW DOWN AND REACT NOR DID I. LUCKILY AFTER A FEW NARROW MISSES I MANAGED TO EVACUATE THE CAR. I WAS GETTING THE ERROR MESSAGE "DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION- REDUCED POWER OUTPUT" AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT AT THE SAME INSTANCE IN TIME AS THE FAILURE OCCURRED (NOT BEFORE THE FAILURE OCCURED, BUT RATHER AT THE SAME TIME). THIS MADE FOR A VERY DANGEROUS, …

3rd break lights start loosen by the nuts inside the break lights. The third brake light may become loose, possibly allowing the light to detach from the vehicle. Trying to contact BMW of North American and they said even the same model and years but not under the same production line and they won’t cover. The same issues happened with different production line means the car design has problem need fix by model and years.

Rear third brake light come loose, (I found all the nuts behind de leather of the car)causing the light to fall off. Also making the roof leak, water drain to the under seat, and the battery compartment, running thru the seat belt. This cause mold In the carpet under the rear seat and also in the battery compartment is located the fuel pump module, and the parking brake module, and un hopefully the is no water drain on that compartment, so it fills up with water. Low pressure fuel pump stop working and the parking brake too.
