ENGINE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE NEW. THIRD TIME IN FOR THIS PROBLEM IN A YEAR. THIS CONDITION CREATES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. THE BRAKES AT THE REAR WHEEL LOCKED UP. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT SPEED BUT HAD STOPPED TO GET GAS. IT WAS AT THE PUMP THAT I DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE HAD LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR SIX WEEKS AND THAT TO ME IS AN INDICATION THAT THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN SUFFICIENTLY REPORTED. AT THE PUMP I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND I OVERSHOT A LITTLE BIT. A VERY LITTLE AND I COULD HAVE FILLED THE TANK AT THE PLACE. BUT NONE THE LESS I THINK I'LL BACK UP A LITTLE TO GET CLOSER TO THE PUMP. IT WAS AT THIS POINT THAT I COULD…

APPALLED TO DISCOVER THAT EVEN THE REPUTABLE BMW NO LONGER STANDS BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS! ABOUT 3 YEARS AFTER THE INITIAL PURCHASE (BRAND NEW) FROM AN AUTHORIZED BMW DEALER, RODE MY BMW FOR THE 1ST TIME, ON A RAINY DAY. THE NEXT DAY, BEFORE LEAVING MY GARAGE(I ALWAYS PARKED THIS BIKE IN A COVERED GARAGE) I NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. THE 4 WAY SIGNAL/HAZARD WAS OK THOUGH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BMW K1300 GT. WHILE RIDING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED FUEL HAD LEAKED FROM THE FUEL PUMP WHERE THE BOSS THREADED INTO THE FLANGE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE MOTORCYCLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER THE MANUFACTURER'S CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 038538 FOR THE SAME FAILURE IN 2014. DURING THE REPAIRS, A REINFORCEMENT RING WAS INSTALLED TO PREVENT THE SAME FAILURE FROM OCCURRING. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,815.
