Motorcycle fuel tank is leaking due to vibration from fuel tank mounting bracket. Fuel lines are also loose and potentially need to be changed out do to age/improper mounting. Just bought this bike from previous seller on 08/12/2025, rode fine on the way home until the day after 08/13/2025 only to realize the bike had not be serviced for it's recall fixes.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 YAMAHA YZF-R3. WHILE DRIVING IN THIRD GEAR AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE POWERED DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE KEY IGNITION WAS NOT READING THE KEY CORRECTLY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER A RECALL, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE FUEL TANK FITTING BRACKET BECAME HOT AND SLOWLY BURNED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 YAMAHA YZF-R3. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V459000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND 16V406000 (STEERING, SUSPENSION). HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO RECALL PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
