YAMAHA ZUMA 125 DIES WHILE IN OPERATION. APPEARS TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALLS WHILE IN OPERATION. THIS IS A SCOOTER WITH ONLY 160 MILES ON IT. IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, IT STALLS! VERY UNSAFE! ALMOST GOT HIT BY AN 18 WHEELER! ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE FUEL PUMP IS NOT WORKING. TURN ON THE KEY, NO FUEL PUMP NOISE. THEREFORE, NO GAS! I PURCHASED THIS SCOOTER NEW. I HAD THE ISSUE AT 50 MILES AND IT CONTINUED. ONE YEAR WARRANTY, SO DEALER WON'T ASSIST WITHOUT BILLING ME. THIS SCOOTER HAD A RECALL IN 2009 FOR THE SAME PROBLE…

THE FUEL PUMP UNPREDICTABLY STOPS WORKING AND RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO MOVE. THE FUEL PUMP CUT OUT ON ME AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE SCOOTER. THIS CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ME ON A 3 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY. THE FUEL PUMP HAS CUT OUT ON ME IN TRAFFIC MORE THAN 10 TIMES. PROBLEM IS FIXED ONLY BY WAITING. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 15 MINUTES, SOMETIMES IT TAKES 24 HOURS. I WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALERSHIP, AND YAMAHA REFUSED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM FOR FREE.
