TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 YAMAHA FJR1300 MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V002000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH). THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT THE RECALL REPAIR HAS NOT BEEN PERFORMED DUE TO A MASSIVE NATIONAL BACK ORDER FOR THE NECESSARY PART. THE PART WILL BE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL JULY 21, 2009. THE CONTACT WAS PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE NOT BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 500. UPDATE…

THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE MY MOTORCYCLE HAS BEEN NEW. WHEN I STOP MY MOTORCYCLE IN 2ND GEAR, IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR UNLESS I ROCK IT A LITTLE AFTER STOPPED. IT WILL GO INTO NEUTRAL, BUT NOT INTO 1ST GEAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF ON A STEEP HILL. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE YAMAHA DEALER WHO TOLD ME I NEEDED TO BREAK IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE REAR BRAKE (FOOT PEDAL) CONTINUALLY LOSES PRESSURE, WHILE THE FRONT BRAKE REMAINS IN GOOD OPERATING ORDER / WITH GOOD PRESSURE. ONCE PRESSURE IS LOST, THE FOOT PEDAL FEELS MUSHY, RESULTING IN NO BRAKING POWER; PUMPING THE FOOT PEDAL REPEATEDLY MAY ENGAGE THE BRAKE, BUT ONLY SLIGHTLY. I'VE TAKEN THE MOTORCYCLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THE TECHNICIAN CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE OR SOURCE OF THE PRESSURE LOSS (ALL SEALS APPEAR IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AND THERE IS NO APPARENT LEAKS). I HAVE A 2008 ATV 4X4 YAMAHA GRIZZLY 700. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE GAS BOILS, IT'S EXTREMELY SCARY SIGHT. IT RELEASES THE GAS FUMES WHILE RIDING INFRONT OF THE DRIVER INHALING ALL THE FUMES ALL DAY. I HAD A HEADACHE THE REST OF THE DAY AFTER RIDING. I STOP WHEN I HEARD BUBBLING SOUNDS COMING FROM THE GAS TANK AND WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE TANK THE FUMES WERE RUSHING OUT COULDN'T TAKE OFF CAP TILL ALL THE FUMES WERE GONE.
