WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, 65 MPH, ENGINE RPM 1900, 5TH GEAR, AFTER ENCOUNTERING A SLIGHT GRADE, TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS FROM 5TH, TO 4TH, TO 3RD, TO 2ND GEAR, ENGINE RPM 4500, IN 48 SECONDS. ENGINE RACES UNTIL CRUISE CONTROL IS MANUALLY DISENGAGED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 WINNEBAGO VISTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND IT STUCK TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE PROTECTIVE SHIELD THAT ALLOWED MOISTURE TO PENETRATE. THE LOCAL MECHANIC REPLACED THE PROTECTIVE SHIELD AND BRAKE LINES. 2013 WINNEBAGO VISTA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE UNSTABLE STEERING. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE RV HAS ROLL, SWAY, WANDER AND TRUCK PUSH PROBLEMS. THE RV WAS ALREADY VULNERABLE DUE TO ITS HEIGHT, WEIGHT AND SIZE. IT WAS RECOMMENDED IT THE RV DIDN'T HAVE IMPROVED STEERING CONTROL, IT SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN OR 60 MPH, AND LESS WITH INCREASED WINDS.

MY 2011 WINNEBAGO VISTA 35F HAS THE SAME DAMAGE TO THE PROTECTIVE WRAP OF THE ELECTRICAL WIRES FOR THE SLIDE-OUT AS DESCRIBED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V-390. HOWEVER, I'M BEING TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS BUILT 2 MONTHS AFTER THE DATES SPECIFIED BY THE RECALL.
