THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SYSTEM (ETS) FAILED INTERMITTENTLY AT 65K MILES WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DRASTICALLY LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE ETS FAILED COMPLETELY AT 69K MILES WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE STALLING ON THE ROAD. *NLM

I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE ETS ON MY 1999 VOLVO XC. OVER THE LAST 15 MONTHS, OUR VOLVO HAS UNDERGONE A COMPLETE COLLAPSE. IT STARTED WITH A BLOWN HEAD, DESPITE HAVING THE CAR SERVICED REGULARLY. MY REPAIRMAN SAID THE CAR HAD EXPERIENCED A HEAT PROBLEM BEFORE WE PURCHASED IT, IN HIS OPINION. SINCE THAT TIME, WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ABS AND ETS MODULES. THE CAR IS STILL NOT RUNNING.
