I BOUGHT THIS 2017 V60 FROM CRIPPEN VOLVO IN 2019 WITH ONLY AROUND 1000MILES ON IT. I AM THE FIRST OWNER. THE TRANSMISSION ACT WEIRDLY ON THE SECOND DAY I BOUGHT IT. IT HAS A POWE CUT BETWEEN 1ST GEAR AND 2 ND GEAR, JUST LIKE DRVING A MANUAL. (ONLY WHEN IT IS COMPLETELY WARM) BRING IT TO CRIPPEN VOLVO, THEY UPDATE THE SOFTWARE OF TCM, THINGS GET BETTER A BIT. BUT STILL JERKY FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR. BRING IT TO SUBURBAN VOLVO, THEY RESET EVERYTHING OF THE SOFTWARE. THINGS GET BETTER A BIT, BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK SEVERAL DAYS AFTER THAT. …

Owner report 11570569 · 2024-02-07 (February 7, 2024)
In the past two years, my car has had 3 wheel sensors fail. When a wheel sensor fails while driving, things can get dangerous. When this happens, the following systems immediately fail in a chain reaction of events: ABS system, ESC Control, tire pressure monitoring, and loss of power. It’s dangerous when it happens on the road because the brakes are not working and the accelerator won’t accelerate. I have to pull off the road immediately to get out of the way of traffic. This is the 3rd time it’s happened and I’ve only driven the car 9k miles s…

Owner report 11644397 · 2025-02-23 (February 23, 2025)
CONCERN: Volvo cars’ sunroofs are negligently designed, allowing sunroof drain obstructions to flood the vehicle’s internal electronics. This results in catastrophic and simultaneous system failures, including brake loss, airbag failure, and disabled traction control, posing an extreme and imminent safety risk. SUMMARY OF EVENTS: While driving at speed, I received a “BRAKE FAILURE / PLEASE STOP SAFELY” warning, followed by “ABS / ESC” and “SRS Airbag” failure messages. This led to a sudden and dangerous loss of braking power and airbag system f…

Owner report 11489919 · 2022-10-19 (October 19, 2022)
I was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which I struck a bull moose on Route 2 eastbound in Leominster, MA. I was traveling at approximately 65Mph at the time of the strike. The primary area of impact was the driver's side. The moose struck the front radiator, rolled into the windshield, broke the glass and dented the A pillar, and crumpled the roof a bit as it rolled back and off of the vehicle. The steering wheel was badly damaged and actually stopped the body of the moose from further entering the vehicle and potentially killing me. Th…

Owner report 11623702 · 2024-11-05 (November 5, 2024)
Power steering cuts out intermittently. When I took the Volvo in for a recall (seatbelt Sept 5, 2024) I mentioned to Volvo that this was happening. I was told not to worry about it unless it was more consistent. After that it cut out for about a week. I took it in to my mechanic for a diagnostic, but it had started working again. I was told by the mechanic to save my money for a diagnostic and wait until the problem manifested itself again and park the car and call him. It was gifted t me by my son-in-law but I am afraid to drive it. But, u…
