Owner report 11589772 · 2024-05-20 (May 20, 2024)

Automatic Intervention Collision Avoidance system activated unnecessarily and unexpectedly during a freeway exit. There were no cars ahead within a reasonable distance, but there was a car in the adjacent lane of a “dual” parallel exit lane on the freeway. There was a solid white line between vehicles and the system seemed to interpret both vehicles exiting the freeway simultaneously as a “near collision” when in fact we were both operating correctly. I did not notice any intrusion or movement of the adjacent vehicle into our lane. The response…

Owner report 11693464 · 2025-10-14 (October 14, 2025)

When slowing to a stop the vehicle is unsmooth and unpredictable, there is also a sudden release when braking downhill (not sure if they are related). There’s been occasions where the car lurched when coming to a stop almost resulting in me rear ending the vehicle in front of me. The unsmooth/unpredictable stopping only happens at speeds under 10mph when approaching a stop like with city driving. I’ve had it to the dealership two times for this. They’ve had trouble reproducing it, but acknowledged it is unsmooth and said that’s just the way the…

Owner report 11631582 · 2024-12-19 (December 19, 2024)

The contact owns a 2024 Volvo S60. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, a message stating that the propulsion system was reduced was displayed, and the vehicle came to a complete stop in the middle of the road, nearly causing a crash. Additionally, the steering wheel seized, the gear shift indicator light turned off, and the four wheels seized while the engine continued to run. A Police Officer arrived at the scene and directed traffic to prevent a crash. The vehicle was towed to the nearest dealer, where it was diagnosed wit…

Owner report 11733466 · 2026-04-23 (April 23, 2026)

I am submitting a formal vehicle safety complaint regarding a sudden and complete system failure in my Volvo S60 2023, which occurred in March 2026 in [XXX] . While traveling on [XXX] at highway speed, the vehicle abruptly and without warning lost all electrical power. The dashboard went completely blank, and all electronic systems ceased functioning. Critically, the steering became unresponsive/locked at the same time, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard. I was fortunate to avoid a collision, but the incident had clear potential …

Owner report 11760181 · 2026-08-27 (August 27, 2026)

Electrical, Parking Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Warning. Electrical is the root cause........the entire audio subsystem drops after the AAOS 5.1.17 update. It’s not just the rear cross traffic and parking collision warnings: ALL audio goes, including media, chimes, reverse proximity tones, and even the turn-signal/blinker sound. The rear camera still shows an image, so it’s not obvious the audible alerts are gone, which is what makes it dangerous. Rebooting the head unit fixes it temporarily, then it comes back.

Owner report 11668530 · 2025-06-23 (June 23, 2025)

The rear back-up camera does not work. This occurs at least a few times a week with routine, daily driving. The vehicle starts normal and software loads normal; however, upon shifting to reverse, the camera is not displayed. Instead, I receive an error message stating that the camera is not available. My vehicle already has the recall for updated software that was intended to fix the camera issue (software version 3.5.24); however, the issue is worse with this software version. On previous versions, this issue occurred only a couple times a mon…
