Reported: 1998-09-29 (September 29, 1998)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR BACKING PLATE (CLUTCH BASKET) CAN BREAK CAUSING THE ENGINE COMPONENTS TO LOCK UP.

Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN LEAD TO REAR WHEEL LOCK UP INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR AND RELATED PARTS.

99V186000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Cooling System

Reported: 1999-07-12 (July 12, 1999)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. A COOLANT WATER HOSE CAN COME LOOSE AT THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING DURING OPERATION.

Consequence: STEAM RELEASED COULD OBSCURE THE RIDER'S VISION OR LEAKING COOLANT COULD MAKE THE REAR TIRE SLIP.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL AND PROPERLY TIGHTEN TWO NEW HOSE CLAMPS.
