THE MOTORCYCLE SPEEDOMETER , ODOMETER PANEL LEAKS MOISTURE AND AS A RESULT DOES NOT SHOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK OR HOW MANY MILES ON THE BIKE . ALSO SPEEDOMETER SOMETIMES FAILS AS WELL DUE TO FAULTY SEALANT AND OR PART OF THE MOTORCYCLE . I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE DEALER AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT. DEALER TOLD ME THAT LOTS OF MODELS OF THIS YEAR HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE ARE NO SPARE PARTS FOR 4 YEARS NOW.

I OWN A '07 YAMAHA STRATOLINER AND IT'S GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO GET INTO 3RD GEAR, I HAVE TO STRETCH OUT 2ND BY PASS 3RD AND GO INTO 4TH. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN ON A BIKE THAT HAS ONLY 19, 000 MILES ON IT.

Owner report 11323139 · 2020-05-03 (May 3, 2020)
YAMAHA HAS A DEFECTIVE 3RD GEAR ISSUE WITH THE XV1900 MOTORCYCLES IN THE YEARS 2006 AND 2007. MY THIRD GEAR STARTED GRINDING DURING NORMAL OPERATION, WHICH MAKES IT TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ANY LONGER, AS MAINTAINING SPEED IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT YAMAHA HAS NOT ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL FOR YET. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS 06 ROADLINER. THIS ISSUE WAS DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS AND NOT DUE TO ABUSE OR NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.
