Reported: 2000-09-21 (September 21, 2000)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE DRAIN BOLT FOR THE TRANSMISSION OIL CAN COME LOOSE DURING OPERATION ALLOWING OIL TO FLOW OUT FROM THE DRAIN HOLE ONTO THE PAVEMENT.

Consequence: THIS COULD CAUSE THE REAR TIRE TO SLIP, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CRASH AND RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL TIGHTEN THE DRAIN BOLT.
