A note I have put on forums. I believe firmly that the NHSTA has failed the American consumer with respect to "Run Flat Tires" and Donuts. On a prior Audi we could and did throw the donut away and were able to use a real spare for the odd flat. Now for both this Volvo and most other cars, there is no accommodation for a real spare tire. I do not know what public interest you are serving by allowing the industry to do away with properly sized spare tires and spare tire wells. Sunday, May 14, 2023 - 2:30pm Car reports "Brake Failure - Stop Safely" Driver does so, and-- -Parking Brake Sets -Car will not come out of Park -Engine can not be turned off -Rear lift gate cannot be opened by any means First attempt at a tow fails – parking brake locked [XXX] arrives at site at about 6:45 pm. Gaps in the sunroof seal caused water to drain from the sunroof to the interior, electrical panel, firewall panel of the car and batteries. All electrical components are damaged because of the water. My car died on a very busy road on Dec. 31, 2024. It is an extremely dangerous rd. I could not leave the vehicle because my special needs son was with me and scared to get out. 20V144000 · Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking | Forward Collision Avoidance:Software:Pedestrian/Cyclist/Object/Obstacle/ Recognition
Reported: 2020-03-12 (March 12, 2020)
Volvo Cars USA LLC (Volvo Cars) is recalling certain 2019-2020 S60, V60, V60 Cross Country, S90L, V90, V90 Cross Country, XC40, XC60, and XC90 vehicles. Due to a software/hardware incompatibility, the Automatic Emergency Brake (AEB) system may not detect obstacles and engage as intended.
Consequence: If the automatic emergency braking system does not engage as intended, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will update the Active Safety Domain Master (ASDM) software, free of charge. The recall began April 9, 2020. Owners may contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's number for this recall is R29998.

Reported: 2021-06-02 (June 2, 2021)
Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2019-2020 V90, XC60, S60, V60, V60CC, S90, V90CC, S90L, and XC90 vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump can blow a fuse and fail.
Consequence: Failure of the low-pressure fuel pump can cause a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 2, 2021. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-888-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10100.
