MY WIFE WAS IN REVERSE, BACKING UP IN HER 2005 VOLVO XC70 WITH HER FOOT SOLIDLY ON THE BRAKE. CAR ACCELERATED AND BRAKING WOULDN'T STOP THE CAR. WHEN IT HIT A LIGHT POLE IT STOPPED. MY WIFE IS POSITIVE HER FOOT WAS ON BRAKE. THE DEALER AND VOLVO FACTORY PEOPLE RAN TESTS AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. THERE IS APPROX $2000 IN DAMAGE TO CAR AND POLE. ONLY HAPPENED ONCE. AS STATED, VOLVO FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. *TR

VEHICLE STALLED ABRUPTLY WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, ETC WERE DISPLAYED. PULLED OFF OF HIGHWAY, RESTARTED CAR AFTER ABOUT 60 SECONDS AND CAR RAN WITHOUT ANY FURTHER PROBLEMS. THIS IS SIMILAR BEHAVIOR I EXPERIENCED WITH A 2001 XC70 THAT HAD A RECALL FOR THE THROTTLE BODY ECM. *TR
