The contact owns a 2013 Irbitski Mototsicletny Zavod Ural Gear Up Motorcycle. The contact stated while riding at approximately 20 MPH the side car rim cracked and cause the tire to disintegrate. The contact was able to pull over safely, stop, and change the tire. The contact took the motorcycle to a certified mechanic who determined that the side car tire and rim needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the mechanic informed him that the rim failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V507000 (Wheels). The vehicle was repaired. The ma…

22V431000 · Wheels:Rim

Reported: 2022-06-16 (June 16, 2022)

Irbit Motorworks of America, Inc. (Irbit) is recalling certain 2012-2017 Ural Gear Up, Ural Patrol (T), Ural Retro, 2012-2015 Ural Tourist (T), and 2015-2017 Ural cT motorcycles. The wheel spokes may have been improperly tightened, which can damage the rims or cause a wheel lock-up.

Consequence: Damaged rims or a wheel lock-up can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the wheel rims, spokes, tubes, and rim strips, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 17, 2022. Owners may contact Irbit customer service at 1-425-702-8484. This recall excludes wheel rims previously replaced by warranty and/or under NHTSA Recall No. 13V-507.
