I WAS RIDING MY TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE MOTORCYCLE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE BIKE JUST SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. I LOST ALL POWER AND THE BIKE WOULD NOT RESTART. I TRIED TO QUICKLY CHANGE LANES TO GET TO THE SHOULDER, BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BY A CAR. THE BIKE SLID AND I WAS INJURED IN THE FALL. I HAD THE BIKE TOWED AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER HAD FAILED. THE BATTERY WOULD NOT CHARGE AS A RESULT SO I LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLER 675 MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WOULD NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY AND HE WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD FURTHER ASSESS THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,600. *TR
