FRONT BRAKES ARE LOSING EFFECTIVENESS AFTER TWO MONTHS OF NORMAL USE. FRONT BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL HAS INCREASED TO THE POINT THAT I AM UNABLE TO GENERATE ENOUGH BRAKING FORCE IN AN EMERGENCY STOP SITUATION. PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT AND ONGOING. *JB

THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK ON MY BIKE IS SWELLING VISIBLY. ON LINE OTHERS ON THE TRIUMPH FORUM ARE ALSO COMPLAINING OF THIS. PROBABLY DUE TO ETHANOL IN THE FUEL. I AM CONCERNED THE TANK WILL SWELL UNTIL RUPTURE AND THEM POSSIBLY A FIRE. *TR

06V315000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Foundation Components:Disc:Caliper

Reported: 2006-08-23 (August 23, 2006)

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE ANTI-ROTATION STOP BOLT ON THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER MAY SHEAR ALLOWING THE CALIPER TO CONTACT THE SWING ARM.

Consequence: DAMAGE TO THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER AND SWING ARM COULD CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STOP BOLT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 678-854-2010.
