FUEL LINE QUICK DISCONNECTED BEGAN LEAKING WHILE RIDING. GASOLINE SPILLS ALL OVER THE HOT ENGINE AND EXHAUST PIPES. DEALER SERVICE REP SAID "THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME". FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT TRIUMPH MUST KNOW ABOUT AND SHOULD ADDRESS.*AK BY THE WAY, THIS VALVE IS LOCATED ABOUT EIGHT INCHES FROM THE RIDERS LAP.

REAR BRAKE FAILURE ON ALL 2002-2003 TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE AMERICA, AMERICA, AND SPEED MASTER MOTORCYCLES. IF THE BIKE HAS BEEN ON ITS SIDE FALLEN OFF THE KICK STAND OR FALLEN OVER FOR ANY REASON AND YOU GET IT BACK UPRIGHT AND PROCEED WITH NORMAL OPERATION AFTER RIDING AND PUMPING THE REAR BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES YOU HAVE A COMPLETE FAILURE. NONE OF THE MOTORCYCLES HAD ANY DAMAGE TO THE BRAKE ASSY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF RIDERS I HAVE THE VEHICLE VIN NUMBERS AND THE NAMES OF THAT OPERATORS. AFTER CONTACTING TRIUMPH THEY DO NOT SEE IT AS A PROBL…

Reported: 2002-09-10 (September 10, 2002)

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE REAR WHEEL NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING AS FITTED ONLY TO CERTAIN SINGLE SIDED SWINGING ARM MOTORCYCLES CAN DETERIORATE AND SEIZE CAUSING THE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK-UP.

Consequence: THIS CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE ALL REAR WHEEL BEARINGS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN SEPTEMBER 19, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 1-678-854-2010.
