WHILE RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE OVER BUMP IN THE ROAD, AT 25 MPH, THE RIGHT FOOT PEG DEPARTED FROM THE MOTORCYCLE. MY RIGHT FOOT MADE CONTACT WITH ROAD SURFACE. NO INJURY. I RETRIEVED THE BROKEN PEG FROM ROAD FOR INSPECTION. I OBSERVED THAT THE MOUNTING CLEVIS BOLT SHEARED AT THE CONNECTION TO THE OUTRIGGER. *TR

RIGHT FOOT PEG BROKE OFF WHEN I PUT MY WEIGHT ON IT TO MOUNT THE MOTORCYCLE. MOTORCYCLE WAS STATIONARY IN THIS INSTANCE, BUT COULD HAPPEN AT SPEED IF A RIDER WERE TO STAND ON THE PEGS WHILE RIDING. THE BOLT ATTACHING THE FOOT PEG CLEVIS TO THE FRAME FRACTURED. PICTURES OF THE FACE OF THE BOLT ATTACHED. I AM UNAWARE OF A PRIOR ACCIDENT INVOLVING THIS VEHICLE THAT WOULD HAVE COMPROMISED THAT BOLT, ALTHOUGH THE BIKE HAS BEEN DROPPED SLOWLY ON THAT SIDE WHILE THAT BIKE WAS NOT IN MOTION.
