The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22T006000 (Tires) and submitted a recall repair request form to the manufacturer; however, the manufacturer denied the request and advised the contact that the tires were in good condition based on the photos he had submitted. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that th…

Reported: 2004-10-14 (October 14, 2004)

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THERE MAY BE A POOR WELD ON THE REAR SUSPENSION UNIT BODY.

Consequence: FAILURE OF THE REAR SUSPENSION UNIT MAY COMPROMISE THE STABILITY OF THE MOTORCYCLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR SUSPENSION UNITS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 20, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT TRIUMPH AT 1-678-854-2010.
