SUBSTANDARD RENTAL TRUCK. U-HAUL PROVIDED A TRUCK WITH NON FUNCTIONING MIRRORS, SPEEDOMETER THAT BOUNCED ALL OVER AND WAS UNREADALBE, PARTS HELD ON WITH BAILING WIRE, DASHBOARD SHAKING AND FALLING APART. BASICALLY A SAFETY HAZARD AND AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN

I HAD JUST GOTTEN ONTO THE FREEWAY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG, I LOST CONTROL AND HIT THE CENTER DIVIDER. WHEN THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL ARRIVED HE INFORMED ME THAT THE TREAD ON MY PASSENGER FRONT TIRE WAS COMPLETLY GONE AND THAT THERE WAS TREAD ALL OVER THE FREEWAY. I LEARNED LATER THAT THE FIRESTONE TIRE MODEL THAT I HAD ON MY TRUCK WAS THE MODEL THAT WAS BEING RECALLED FOR DEFECTS. I WAS INJURED AND MY TRUCK WHICH IS ESTIMATED AT APPROXIMATELY 4000 TO 5000 DOLLARS WAS TOTALLED.( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P235/75R15 )
