Owner report 10003193 · 2003-01-22 (January 22, 2003)
2 OF THE SEAT BELTS ON MY 1992 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER CAME COMPLETELY OUT IN A PASSENGER'S HAND. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STRICTLY MAINTAINED ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S STANDARDS AND BY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SERVICE. TIRE BLEW OUT ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. TREAD SEPARATED FROM SIDEWALL. I AM REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION SINCE I CANNOT DETERMINE IF THE INCIDENT WAS DUE TO TIRE FAILURE. I HAVE A COMPLETE SET OF THESE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE AND CANNOT BE CONFIDENT DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS UNTIL I CAN RULE OUT TIRE FAILURE AS THE CAUSE. *AK
