BOUGHT CAR AT THE END OF APRIL 2017 AND IN AUG 2018 STARTED HAVING A GRINDING NOISE EVERY TIME I STEPPED ON THE BREAK PEDAL. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL TO HAVE THAT NOISE THAT WASN'T THERE BEFORE. SPENT 3 WEEKS TRYING TO GET TOYOTA TO FIX THIS ISSUE. CAR HAD 29K MILES ON IT. SERVICE TECHNICIANS WERE EXTREMELY RUDE AND KEPT ON SAYING IT WAS NOTHING AND IT WITH IT. AFTER FINALLY GETTING THEM DOING SOMETHING ON IT THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. Owner report 11152251 · 2018-11-18 (November 18, 2018)
I WAS DRIVING EAST ON MARSHALL AVE. IN LONGVIEW TEXAS, TO SUPER 1 GROCERY STORE, AND TURN LEFT TO PARK IN FRONT OF THE STORE. WHEN I TURNED LEFT THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD POPING SOUND COMING FROM SUNROOF AREA. IT HAS BEEN DOING IT EVERY TIME I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT AS LONG AS THERE IS AN UNEVEN ROAD SURFACE THAT CAUSES THE FRONT TIRES TO BE AT A DIFFERENT ELEVATION THAN REAR TIRES. THIS POSITION PRODUCES A TWISTING MOTION OF THE VEHICLE FRAME AND THAT IS WHEN THE ROOF POPING IS HEARD.

Reported: 2017-07-20 (July 20, 2017)
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2016 Camry Hybrid and Avalon Hybrid vehicles. The front drive shaft may separate.
Consequence: A front driveshaft separation would result in a loss of propulsion while driving, and if the driver exits the vehicle without applying the parking brake, the vehicle may roll. Both scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will check the serial number of the vehicle's drive shaft, replacing any that are affected, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2017. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is H0M.
