Owner report 10007349 · 2002-09-24 (September 24, 2002)
CAR STALLS ON DECELERATION WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (RED). TOYOTA TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE WITHOUT A PERMANENT RESOLUTION. UPON CONTACTING MANUFACTURER AND IN TURN TOYOTA SERVICE & REPAIR THEY STATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THERE IS NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. TOYOTA SERVICE ADVISED ME TO DRIVE VEHICLE AND NOT TO COMPLETELY FILL GAS TANK, BECAUSE IF THE GAS TANK IS OVERFILLED CAUSES CAR TO TURN OFF. DUE TO GAS GETTING INTO THE VACUUM SYSTEM. *PH *NLM **DIMSII IVOQ ENTRY POSTED AFTER 12/12/02 CUT OVER …

I HAVE A 2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNER SR5. VIN: [XXX]. IT WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM TOYOTA. I PURCHASED A TOYOTA FOG LIGHT KIT FROM A TOYOTA DEALER. TEXAS TOYOTA OF GRAPEVINE. THE TOYOTA PART NUMBER FOR THE KIT IS PT297-89010. MY VEHICLE COMES PRE-WIRED WITH A FOG LIGHT HARNESS. THE KIT CONSISTED OF THE FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLIES 2 OF THEM (PT297-89014). I HAVE LESS THAN 50,000 MILES AND I AM ON MY 3RD SET OF ROTORS. THE LAST SET LASTED LESS THAN A YEAR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. THE ROTORS SURE LOOK SMALL FOR THE SIZE OF THE TRUCK AND THE SIZE OF THE TIRES. I CAN TELL YOU THAT I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE ROTORS BEFORE ON ANY OF MY VEHICLES. THE DEALER SAID IT COULD BE MY WIFE'S FAULT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.. PLEASE HELP ME. *JB

Owner report 10023878 · 2003-06-27 (June 27, 2003)
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE DEALERSHIP (KERRY TOYOTA - FLORENCE, KY) REPLACED MY FRONT ROTORS AT 18,000 MILES DUE TO WARPING. THEY ARE NOW VIBRATING AGAIN (36,800 MILES) DUE TO WARPING. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL BRAKE PADS (ONLY 50% WORN). THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW SUGGESTING THAT THE ROTORS BE TURNED ($138)WHICH I FEEL IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX. THEY SAY ITS 'NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR'. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE. I'M NOT TOWING ANYTHING NOR DO I LIVE IN A MOUNTAINOUS AREA WHERE LONG DOWN-HILL BRAKING COULD BE AN ISSUE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DES…
