Owner report 11004897 · 2017-07-12 (July 12, 2017)
WIPERS AREN'T ALIGNED PROPERLY. DURING USE THEY BUMP INTO EACH OTHER CAUSING THEM TO LOCK UP. MULTIPLE TRIPS TO DEALER TO FIX HASN'T IMPROVED PROBLEM. DEALER SAYS IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THOR AFFECTING MULTIPLE MODELS BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, WHICH SEEMS TO BE IN THE DESIGN OF THE WIPER ARM ANGLE. HAD TO USE SHORTER WIPER BLADES THAN RECOMMENDED TO TRY AND EASE THE PROBLEM BUT THAT REDUCES VISIBILITY WHICH IS ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD. DUE TO PROBLEM AND LIMITED ADJUSTIBILITY, WIPERS DO NOT FULLY COVER THE WINDSHIELD STOPPI…

Owner report 11340907 · 2020-07-22 (July 22, 2020)
WE WERE TRAPPED IN OUR RV AT THE GAS STATION. WE WERE PARKED AND ATTEMPTING TO EXIT TO GET GAS. WE PULLED THE DOOR LATCH (MANUFACTURED BY TRIMARK CORP) TO EXIT BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THE PLUNGER WOULD NOT RETRACT FROM THE LOCK POSITION. EVENTUALLY WE WERE ABLE TO USE A KITCHEN KNIFE AS A SCREWDRIVER (SINCE OUR TOOLS ARE KEPT OUTSIDE OF THE MOTOR COACH) TO REMOVE THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY. WE THEN HAD TO PRY THE PLUNGER TO THE INSIDE TO DISENGAGE IT. WE WERE THEN ABLE TO PUSH THE DOOR OPEN IN ORDER TO EXIT. FROM THAT POINT WE HAD TO …

Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
15V530000 · Visibility:Defroster/Defogger/Hvac System
Reported: 2015-08-19 (August 19, 2015)
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Axis and Vegas recreational vehicles manufactured March 26, 2015, to July 6, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control may lock on one setting, preventing the operator from changing the air flow, thereby eliminating the ability to defrost the windshield.
Consequence: If the windshield cannot be defrosted, the driver's visibility may be affected, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: TMC has notified owners, and dealers will install a jumper harness to prevent the condition, free of charge. The recall began on September 1, 2015. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC's number for this recall is RC000103.

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017)
Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V758-5764.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Thor will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.
