FUEL CAP LOOSE AND COMES OFF OF FUEL FILLER NECK RESULTING IN OPEN TO AIR FUEL TANK WITH RISK OF GASOLINE SPILL AND RESULTANT FIRE AS WELL AS VENTING OF FUMES TO ATMOSPHERE AND CONTAMINATION OF FUEL DUE TO OPEN FUEL TANK. MY 2012 MODEL HAS ONLY 4,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2015. OTHERS OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME. SEE SYMFORUM.COM UNDER HD200 MODEL WITH T…

THE GASOLINE TANK CAP IS DEFECTIVE. THE CAP IS METAL AND THE GAS TANK IS PLASTIC. AFTER SOME USE THE PLASTIC LIP OF THE TANK GETS WORN OUT AND THE CAP DOES NOT LOCK. THEN GAS SPILLS OUT AND THERE IS A DANGER OF FIRE AS WELL POLLUTION. VERY UNSAFE. SYM SHOULD REPLACE TANK OR REPLACE SCOOTER WITH ANOTHER, SAFE VERSION.
