I HAVE OWNED A 2005 SUZUKI GSX-R 600 FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. I GOT A MANUFACTURER SAFETY RECALL NOTICE ON MY FRONT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SO I CONTACTED MY LOCAL SUZUKI DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE "FREE" SERVICE DONE ON MY MOTORCYCLE. I DROPPED MY MOTORCYCLE OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 8/2/18. I WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP WAS STILL WAITING ON THE PARTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND IT WOULD BE A FEW DAYS OR MAYBE EVEN A WEEK BEFORE THE DEALERSHIP COULD WORK ON IT. BECAUSE MY MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT MY PRIMARY TRANSPORTATION AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS WAITING ON THE PARTS…

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
13V449000 · Service Brakes
Reported: 2013-10-18 (October 18, 2013)
Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2013 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, and model year 2005-2013 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. In combination with older brake fluid, corrosion of the brake piston inside of the front brake master cylinder generates gas that may result in a reduction of fluid pressure transmission to the front brake.
Consequence: As a result, front braking power may be reduced increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front brake master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on November 18, 2013. Owners may contact Suzuki at 1-800-572-1490. Suzuki's campaign numbers for this recall are: 2A (31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36).
