I OWN FOR PRIVATE USE, A 9 YEAR OLD (2001) SUNDOWNER 3 HORSE GOOSENECK TRAILER THAT THE WHOLE STEEL UNDERCARRIAGE HAS RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT THE TRAILER IS UNSAFE TO USE FOR HAULING LARGE ANIMALS. SUNDOWNER NEVER NOTIFIED IT'S CUSTOMERS OF THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRAILERS. WHICH THEY APPARENTLY HAVE KNOWN FOR SOME TIME THAT THEIR TRAILERS MANUFACTURED FROM 1999 - 2005 HAD STEEL USED IN THEM THAT DETERIORATED QUICKLY. WE WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO LEARN VIA WORD OF MOUTH, AND HAD OUR TRAILER INSPECTED BY A DEALER BEFORE A TRAGIC ACCIDENT OC…

I AM REPORTING THAT SUNDOWNER HORSE TRAILERS HAVE A REALLY BIG PROBLEM WITH THERE HORSE TRAILERS. THE FRAMES ARE ROTTING OFF FROM THEM, DUE TO THEM NOT PROPERLY PAINTING THE STEEL CORRECTLY, THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS AND FAILED TO CONTACT ANY OF THERE CUSTOMERS. ALSO THE FLOORS ARE ROTTING OFF THE TRAILERS DUE TO THEM PUTTING A SPRAY BED LINER ON TOP OF THE ALUMINUM FLOOR AND IT DID NOT SEAL SO MOISTURE AND WETNESS IS GETTING IN BETWEEN THE FLOOR AND THE SPRAY ON BED LINER, AND IT IS ROTTING OUT. Reported: 2007-03-19 (March 19, 2007)
CERTAIN RECREATIONAL, CARGO, AND HORSE TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: SUNDOWNER WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST YOU IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS.
