THE LEFT REAR TIRE ON MY CAMPER TRAILER FAILED TAKING THE ENTIRE TREAD CAP OFF THE TIRE. THE TREAD PUNCHED A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TRAILER AND BROKE THE GRAY WASTE WATER DRAIN LINE OFF OF THE TRAILER. THE TRAILER WAS NOT OVERLOADED, TIRES WERE PROPERLY INFLATED AND APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 90 DEGREES. AFTER REPLACING THE TIRE WITH THE SPARE, ALSO A CARLISLE, WE CONTINUED ON OUR WAY. LESS THAN AN HOUR LATER A TIRE ON THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE TRAILER FAILED, ALSO LOSING THE ENTIRE TREAD CAP. THIS…

Reported: 2000-03-15 (March 15, 2000)
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRAVEL TRAILERS. THE AXLE ASSEMBLIES WERE REVERSED WHICH CAUSES THE BRAKES AND SPRINGS TO ALSO BE REVERSED.
Consequence: THE LOCATION OF THE BRAKE WILL IMPAIR THEIR ABILITY TO FUNCTION.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL TURN THE AXLE ASSEMBLIES WHICH WILL MOVE THE BRAKES AND SPRINGS INTO THE CORRECT POSITION.
