TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 SUNDOWNER VALUE-LITE HORSE TRAILER. THE HORSE TRAILER WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THE STRUCTURAL FRAME EXHIBITED SEVERE RUST CORROSION. THERE WAS AN ESTIMATED COST OF $8,000 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FRAME. THE TRAILER HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN. BL

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 STARCRAFT STAR STREAM RV. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE CONTACT OBSERVED A LOUD NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN TO DRAG FROM THE REAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A SPRING WITHIN THE REAR AXLE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 4,000.

Reported: 2009-04-01 (April 1, 2009)
STARCRAT IS RECALLING 12 MY 2009 LEXION SERIES 32RLTS, 34IKTS, AND 36RLTS FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS. THERE MAY BE A MISSING GROUND WIRE BETWEEN THE TRAILER FRAME AND THE 12-VOLT BUS BAR.
Consequence: IF THIS CONDITION IS NOT ADDRESSED, IT MAY RESULT IN A FIRE, INJURY OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE APPROPRIATE GROUND WIRE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR APRIL 6, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT STARCRAFT AT 1-800-945-4787.
