I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY AND MY ENGINE KONKED OUT/DIED. FEELING UNSAFE TO DRIVE VEHICLE I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO NEAREST MECHANIC. I WAS GOING HOME FROM WORK (20KM) AND RAMPING DOWN THE HWY EXIT TO THE STOP SIGN, I HEARD A RAPID CLAPPING NOISE UNTIL THE CAR STOPPED TO NEVER START AGAIN. MY LOCAL CAR REPAIR SHOP SAID THAT IT NEEDS A NEW MOTOR. THE CAR ODO IS 90,000KM AND 6YEARS OLD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 SCION FR-S. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER FAILED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY AS THE PASSENGER'S AND DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. MY TOYOTA SCION FR-S 2014 SUDDENLY STOPPED AND LOST ITS POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ALONG A CITY STREET IN FAIRFIELD CA . THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED BY THE DEALER SINCE PURCHASE . IT ONLY HAD 33,000 MILES AND I WAS VERY SURPRISE WHAT WENT WRONG . MY SON ROLLED THE VEHICLE TO A SIDE STREET . WE CALLED OUR INSURANCE FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN FAIRFIELD CA. Timing chain cover oil leak Oil pan cover oil leak Has been a persistent leak since I purchased the car in 2014. I’ve learned it’s an extremely common issue which the dealership won’t warranty. It’s been a documented leak since 2015 and over $2500 to fix. Several members on forums/Facebook claim the exact same leak in same location. It’s due to poor quality sealant used by manufacturer instead of a gasket. New sealant sold by dealership because original sealant is faulty.

Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser, RAV4, Scion FRS, and XB vehicles. The affected vehicles may have accessories installed by SET, such as running boards or other items, that were incorrectly installed. The accessory attaching fasteners were not tightened with the proper torque, possibly causing the accessory to detach from the vehicle.
Consequence: Accessories that detach from a vehicle may result in a vehicle crash and/or personal injury.
Remedy: SET will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and tighten the affected bolts, free of charge. The recall began February 23, 2015. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226. SET's number for this recall is SET-14B.

Reported: 2016-02-10 (February 10, 2016)
Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Toyota Scion FR-S vehicles manufactured March 13, 2012, to January 14, 2016 and equipped an automatic transmission and ignition key. Vehicles with a push-to-start button are not affected. In the affected vehicles, it may be possible to remove the ignition key without the transmission being in the "Park" position. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Consequence: If the key can be removed from the ignition when the transmission is not in the "Park" position, the vehicle could roll away increasing the risk of a crash and occupant or pedestrian injuries.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ignition key/transmission interlock wiring connections, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 7, 2016. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is G0E.
