TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 ROLLS ROYCE PHANTOM COUPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE ADDED FUEL THE NOZZLE BECAME STUCK IN THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REDUCED THE SIZE OF THE FILLER HOLE SO THAT THE NOZZLE WOULD NOT GET STUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE FAILURE. ROLLS ROYCE WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,970 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,627.

10V447000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Power Assist:Vacuum

ROLLS-ROYCE IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2003-2010 PHANTOM, MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 PHANTOM DROPHEAD COUPE, AND MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 PHANTOM COUPE VEHICLES. A CHECK VALVE OF THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP MAY LEAK A SMALL AMOUNT OF LUBRICATING OIL. OVER TIME THIS COULD RESULT IN CONTAMINATION OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER.

Consequence: POWER ASSIST BRAKING PERFORMANCE COULD BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED. IN EXTREME CASES THERE COULD BE A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER ASSIST BRAKING. AN UNEXPECTED REDUCTION OR LOSS IN POWER BRAKING ASSIST MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: ROLLS-ROYCE WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 19, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ROLLS-ROYCE AT 1-877-877-3735.
