DT: THE CONTACT COMPLAINED ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH 2003 R-VISION, MODEL 27FKSS TRAIL BAY. THE BREAKER BOX CAUGHT ON FIRE. HE WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE BREAKER BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THERE WAS SMOKE DAMAGE TO THE SURROUNDING PANEL. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INSPECTED THE DAMAGE. THEY BELIEVED WATER DRIPPED ON THE ELECTRICAL WIRES CAUSING THE FIRE. THE DAMAGE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. ADDITIONALLY, THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER PROVIDED WITH THE VEHICLE WAS NOT THE APPROPRIATE TYPE. *AK

TRAIL BAY 5TH WHEEL- IN GETTING PREPARED FOR A TRIP, I NOTICED CRACKS IN THE 5TH WHEEL HITCH, STARTED LOOKING CLOSER & FOUND THERE WERE MAJOR CRACKS IN THE TRAILER FRAME. TOOK TO RV REPAIR SHOP & HAD REPAIRS MADE, MAJOR WELDING. INFORMED BY REPAIR SHOP THAT THIS FRAME (LIPPERT FRAME) HAS HAD CRACKING PROBLEMS ON OTHER TRAILERS. THE RV SHOP SAID I SHOULD REPORT THIS PROBLEM. *TR

TRAIL BAY 5TH WHEEL NOTICED INTERIOR FRONT WALL IS SEPARATING FROM THE SIDE WALLS . TOOK TO RV DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED . CLAIMED THEY FIXED IT BUT HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. SEEMS TO BE FLEX PROBLEM IN 5TH WHEEL PLATE. TALKED TO CURRENT MFG. OF R VISION AND THEY SAID THE 2003 PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED ON THE 2002 RECALL 03V013. *TR

07V080000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer

Reported: 2007-03-05 (March 5, 2007)

CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.

Consequence: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy: R-VISION WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST YOU IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DOMETIC/STERICYCLE AT 1-888-446-5157 OR R-VISION AT 1-574-268-2111.
