WE WERE DRIVING BACK FROM A NY WEDDING ON 8/18/98 IN OUR 86 VOYAGER WITH 5 PEOPLE WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED AND WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND THE AXEL. I WAS IN THE PASSING LANE AT 65 MPH. I MANAGED TO AVOID LOOSING CONTROL AND GETTING OVER TO THE SIDE. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR EVERYTHING TO SHOW THE TIRES WERE WELL MANITAINED AT THE FIRESTONE DEALERSHIP WHERE I SERVICE MY CAR AND AT THE FIRESTONE DEALERSHIP IN LAWRENCEVILLE NJ THAT TOOK THE DAMAGED TIRE AND REPLACE IT. WE JUST WANT PEOPLE TO NO THAT THE TIRE RECALL OF CERTAIN TIR…

Reported: 1986-01-23 (January 23, 1986)

FIRST REAR SEATS WERE INSTALLED WITH AN INCORRECT LEFT SIDE SEAT RISER WHICH CAUSES FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE SEAT AND SEAT BELT LOADING REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 207, SEATING SYSTEMS. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED, THE SEATS MAY BECOME DETACHED, CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES TO ITS OCCUPANTS.

Remedy: REPLACE INCORRECT SEAT RISERS.
