WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE SQUEAKED AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE CALIPER. *NLM THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ORIGINAL BRAKE CALIPERS. ACCORDING TO NISSAN, THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND TAKEN BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THESE WERE GENUINE NISSAN PARTS AND ALSO RESULTED IN CALIPER FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON THE HWY THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE JUST FLIPPED UP. THIS CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO BE SMASHED AND THE HOOD TO BE BENT OUT OF SHAPE. THIS ALSO CAUSED THE WIND SHIELD WIPERS TO BE DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. *NLM

THIS IS TO REPORT THE SECOND HIGH SPEED BLOW OUT ON A SET OF MICHELIN TIRES THAT WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE VALVE STEM. THE TIRE WAS RETURNED TO SAM'S CLUB, UNDER THEIR ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY, WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE VALVE STEM WAS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE IN LESS THAT SIX MONTHS ON THE SAME SET OF TIRES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE VALVE STEMS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE REPLACED WITH EACH NEW TIRE. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE REMAINING TWO STEMS NOR DID THEY ALERT ANYONE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF A PROBLEM. IN BOTH INCIDENTS, …

I HAVE A 1995 NISSAN PICKUP THAT I JUST PURCHASED FROM MY SISTER-IN-LAW, THE ORIGINAL OWNER. IT HAS CHONIC PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING. THE METAL LIGHT SOCKET BARREL WILL SEPARATE FROM THE PLASTIC SOCKET THAT HOLDS THE LAMP IN THE LENS ASSEMBLY. MY NEPHEW WHO DROVE THE TRUCK ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS HAD TO REINSERT THEM IN ORDER SO THEY WOULD WORK. THIS PROBLEM I LEARNED WAS COMMON WITH THIS NISSAN PICKUP HAD RESULTED IN A SAFETY RECALL (#98V-234) CAMPAIGN BY NISSAN. HOWEVER I WAS INFORMED THAT MY PICKUP DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THIS REC…

TRUCK HAS ALWAYS HAD A SHORT IN IT SOMEWHERE, HAS TO BE STARTED DAILY SO THAT THE BATTERY WILL NOT GO DEAD. BATTERY BEEN REPLACED, THEN IT STARTED TO BLOW FUSES RIGHT AFTER THEY WERE REPLACED, TAKEN IN TO SPECIALIST AND CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM WITH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

TRUCKS WERE ASSEMBLED WITHOUT A DOOR LOCK PLATE IN THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN THE DOOR NOT LATCHINGCORRECTLY, IN AN ACCIDENT, EXPOSING PASSENGER TO INCREASED RISK OF INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND INSTALL DOOR LOCK PLATE IN VEHICLES WHICH ARE MISSING A DOOR PLATE.

THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE CALIPER PISTON SEAL GROOVE WAS IMPROPERLY MACHINED CAUSING A BRAKE FLUID LEAK WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF BRAKING CAPABILITY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE BRAKE CALIPERS ON THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS. A REAR LAMP WILL NOT ILLUMINATE BECAUSE THE METAL BARREL IN THE LIGHT BULB SOCKET MOVES OR SEPARATES FROM THE PLASTIC SOCKET HOUSING DUE TO INADEQUATE HEAT RESISTANCE OF THE PLASTIC AT THE LAMP OPERATING TEMPERATURE.
Consequence: THE STOP/TAIL COMBINATION LAMP OR THE TURN SIGNAL LAMP WILL NOT FUNCTION.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BULB SOCKETS IN THE REAR COMBINATION LAMPS.
