PROBLEMS WITH FRAME OF 2001 RV. *MR WHILE TRAVELING THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RV WAS RUNNING RIGHT OF THE CENTER. THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTED THE CONSUMER TO GO TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT AND FOUND THAT IT WAS OFF BY 3 1/2 INCHES OUT OF LINE. (NEMAR HAD THE FRAME CUT BETWEEN THE FRONT REAR WHEEL TO SHORTEN THE FRAME FOR A 34' RV) WHEN THEY WELDED IT BACK TO THE RIGHT SIDE, IT WAS 3/4 INCHES LONGER THAN THE LEFT SIDE. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT COULD NOT BE FIXED. (THE MANUFACTURER COULDN'T FIX EIT…

00V254001 · Exterior Lighting:Brake Lights:Switch

Reported: 2000-09-21 (September 21, 2000)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOME CHASSIS. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE A MIS-ROUTED WIRE HARNESS THAT ATTACHES TO THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH. THE WIRE COULD RUB ON THE STEERING COLUMN, RESULTING IN A SHORT CIRCUIT AND A BLOWN FUSE, CAUSING A LOSS OF STOP LAMP FUNCTION.

Consequence: THIS WOULD FAIL TO WARN A FOLLOWING DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE IS BRAKING AND COULD LEAD TO A CRASH.

Remedy: FORD DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPAIR THE WIRE HARNESS TO THE BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH.

00V273005 · Seat Belts:Front:Buckle Assembly

Reported: 2000-09-15 (September 15, 2000)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS A MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH SAFETY BELT ASSEMBLIES BUILT BY AM-SAFE. ON SOME SEAT BELTS, THE BUCKLE AND CONNECTOR MAY UNLATCH DURING A COLLISION.

Consequence: SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD OCCUR IF THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT IS NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINED.

Remedy: AM-SAFE IN NOTIFYING CUSTOMERS THAT THEY WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES FREE OF CHARGE.
