MY WIFE NOTICED THE CABINETS SEPARATING FROM THE INTERIOR WALL OF OUR 5TH WHEEL TRAILER IN THE BEDROOM(FRONT). I TOOK THE TRAILER TO NATIONALRV IN PERRIS,CA & WAS TOLD THERE WAS ALOT OF FLEX UP FRONT CAUSING THE DAMAGE. ALSO TOLD WAS THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE INSPECTED AND THAT IT MIGHT BE UNSAFE TO TOW. IT IS A 2003 RAGENRVT TOY BOX WITH A LIPPERT FRAME. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY & THAT ALL COSTS I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS FRAME & THE COMPANY IS WELL AWARE OF IT. *TR

EXCESSIVE FRAME FLEX WHICH HAS CAUSED FRAME FAILURES IN OTHER TOY HAULERS LIKE MINE. MY FRAME HAS NOT FAILED YET BUT THE FLEXING HAS CAUSED A SEPARATION OF THE FRONT WALL FROM THE CABINETS WHICH ARE ATTACHED TO IT. *TR

Reported: 2002-12-23 (December 23, 2002)
ON CERTAIN TRAILERS, THE BRACKETS, THAT SUPPORT AN AUXILIARY GASOLINE FUEL TANK ATTACHED TO EACH TRAILER FOR FUELING OFF-ROAD TYPE VEHICLES, MAY FAIL ALLOWING THE TANK TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE ROAD SURFACE.
Consequence: THE FUEL TANK COULD SEPARATE FROM THE TRAILER AND/OR COULD RESULT IN A FIRE OR CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL MODIFY THE FUEL TANK SUPPORT BRACKETS. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING JANUARY 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT NATIONAL RV AT 1-800-322-6007, EXTENSION 4227. THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA), AN AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT NATIONAL RV, INC. AND ITS HOLDING COMPANY, NATIONAL RV HOLDINGS, INC., HAVE FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. NHTSA HAS BEEN ADVISED THAT OWNERS WHO WISH TO PURSUE CLAIMS RELATED TO SAFETY RECALL REPAIR WORK ON THEIR NATIONAL RV VEHICLES MAY FILE A PROOF OF CLAIM WITH THE UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY COURT FOR THE CENTRAL DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA, RIVERSIDE DIVISION. THE CASE NUMBER ASSIGNED TO THIS MATTER IS 07-17941.
