TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 MOTO GUZZI V10 CENTAURO MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ENGINE OIL SUDDENLY SPILLED INTO THE BRAKES AND TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT HE NEEDED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER DIRECTLY FOR ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURE HAD NOT RETURNED ANY OF THE CONTACT'S PHONE CALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.

I HAVE TWO SUCH VEHICLES. THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAVE WARPED ON BOTH VEHICLES AT 10,000 TO 12,000 MILES. ONE VEHICLE HAD ROTORS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SECOND VEHICLE WAS REFUSED WARRANTY AS IT WAS MORE THAN TWO YEARS OLD. THE WARRANTY PERIOD WAS ADVERTISED AS THREE YEARS. THE ROTOR WARPAGE ISSUE IS A SAFETY ISSUE, IRRESPECTIVE OF MILEAGE OR AGE. *AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE HOSES SUPPLYING OIL FROM THE ENGINE TO THE OIL RADIATOR AND BACK TO THE ENGINE CAN SEPARATE AT THE FITTINGS. A LEAK CAN DEVELOP AND OIL CAN GET ON THE TIRES OF THE MOTORCYCLE.
Consequence: OIL ON THE TIRES CAN CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL REPLACEMENT OIL RADIATOR HOSES OF IMPROVED DESIGN AND MATERIALS.
