ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE LOWER FORK YOKE COULD FAIL. A CRACK CAN FORM AROUND THE LOWER FORK BEARING.

Consequence: IF THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN UNDER SUCH A CONDITION, AND THE CRACK COMPROMISES THE INTEGRITY OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION, THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE LOWER FORK COMPONENT IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PIAGGIO/MOTO GUZZI AT 1-212-380-4400.
