Reported: 2002-09-24 (September 24, 2002)

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE THROTTLE LINKAGE CAN FAIL TO RETURN TO A COMPLETELY CLOSED POSITION.

Consequence: SHOULD THIS FAILURE OCCUR, THE MOTORCYCLE COULD FAIL TO DECELERATE WHEN THE RIDER WANTS IT TO, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE THROTTLE RETURN CABLE. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING OCTOBER 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MOTO GUZZI AT 1-678-238-0902.
