I JUST BOUGHT A 1999 MISHIBISHI ECLIPSE IN SEPT.2004(LAST MONTH) I TOOK MY CAR IN TO MY MECHANIC WHERE I HAVE ALWAYS GONE, FOR A THOROUGH INSPECTION & MAJOR TUNEUP ETC. HE FOUND THAT THE HEAD GASKET IS SHOT.!!!!! IT IS LEAKING OIL FROM THE ENGINE BLOCK, AND WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT..!. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THIS WAS "FAMOUS" FOR THIS TYPE CAR & MODEL, AND THAT MISHISBISHI SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS! UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I FOUND HE WAS CORRECT.
