THIS VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT AS NEW ON 05/03/2015. ON 05/05/2015, AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, WAITING FOR HEAT UP, ALL THE INDICATORS OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT ON (SERVICE ENGINE SOON, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, TIRE PRESSURE, ETC.). ALSO THE BACK LIGHT OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BEGAN TO BLINK, AND A CONTINUOUS BEEP SOUND OR CODE COULD BE HEARD. WHILE THIS BEHAVIOR OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE'S RPM BECAME UNSTABLE, AS IF THE CAR WAS GOING TO STALL AND TURN OFF. AFTER A FEW MINUTES I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT ON 05/03/2015. BETWEEN 05/07/2015 AND 05/29/2015 I NOTICED SMALL BROWN SPOTS APPEAR ALONG THE PAINT'S SURFACE OF THE VEHICLE (HOOD, ROOF, BETWEEN DOORS). ALTHOUGH THE SPOTS CAN BE REMOVED WITH WAX AND POLISH PROCESS, THE SPOTS RE-APPEAR WITHIN DAYS. UNDER THE SUSPICION FOR CORROSION, I INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THOROUGHLY, NOTICING THAT THE MECHANICAL PARTS BELOW THE CAR WERE EXCESSIVELY CORRODED. THE DEALERSHIP AND A MITSUBISHI INSPECTOR CONSIDERED THESE CONDITIONS TO BE NORMAL. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW. HAVING AT THIS MOME…

MY REAR AXEL HAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. MY CAR DRIFTS AT ANY SPEED OVER 80KMS/HR. AFTER ALL MY RESEARCH, APPARENTLY I'M NOT THE ONLY BUYER WITH THIS ISSUE. MINE IS BEING REPLACED UNDER WARANTEE. THERE IS NO RECALL BEEN ISSUED. AFTER TWO OR THREE PROBLEMS, THATS THE FIRST THING MITSUBISHI SHOULD HAVE DONE. THIS HAPPENED AT 15400 KMS. AND ONLY # MONTHS OLD. THE TOE ON THE RIGHT TIRE IS OUT .48.

I BOUGHT A NEW MITISUBISHI FROM LEHMAN AUTOWORLD IN MIAMI, FL. IN LESS THAN A MONTH THE TIRE WAS DESTROYED WHEN A WRENCH GOT IN THE TIRE. IT'S A DUNLAP TIRE. TIRES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE STRONG AND DURABLE. I WAS LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN THAT CAN NOT BE IGNORED.

Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
15V815000 · Air Bags:Frontal | Electrical System:Wiring
Reported: 2015-12-04 (December 4, 2015)
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Mitsubishi Mirage vehicles manufactured July 27, 2013, to September 2, 2015. If the driver enters an affected vehicle with their feet covered water and salt, it may soak through the carpet and cause corrosion to a wiring connector located in a junction box behind a kick panel to the left of the driver's footrest.
Consequence: In the event of a crash, corrosion of the connector could delay deployment of the frontal air bags, increasing the risk of injury to the driver and the front seat passenger.
Remedy: MMNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the affected connectors, replacing any found to be corroded. A waterproof sheet will be installed over the connectors to prevent future corrosion. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in February 2016. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. MMNA's number for this recall is SR-16-001.

Reported: 2017-10-30 (October 30, 2017)
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Mirage vehicles. The internal acceleration sensor in the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) can misinterpret vibrations such as those from poor road conditions or a flat tire to be a sensor error thereby disabling the air bags from deploying in a crash.
Consequence: Air bags that do not deploy as designed in a crash increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: MMNA will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the SRS-ECU software, free of charge. The recall began on November 10, 2017. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. MMNA's number for this recall is SR-17-006.
