WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTING PULLING TO THE RIGHT. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY THE CONSUMERS THEY NOTICED THAT THE RIM WAS BENT, THE TIRE HAD GONE FLAT AND WAS OFF THE RIM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM

00V225003 · Steering:Gear Box (Other Than Rack And Pinion)

Reported: 2000-08-10 (August 10, 2000)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. A NUT IN THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS NOT PROPERLY TIGHTENED, RESULTING IN SYMPTOMS RANGING FROM STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION TO STIFF STEERING, AND IN THE WORST CASE, NO ABILITY TO TURN LEFT.

Consequence: A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THESE VEHICLES AND REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY IF A LOOSE NUT CONNECTION IS FOUND.
