TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 MERCURY SABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL VIBRATES WHEN ACCELERATING; THE GREATER THE SPEED, THE MORE VIBRATION OCCURS. THE DEALER REPOSITIONED THE CABLE UNDERNEATH THE PEDAL, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. NOT COMFORTABLE TO BE STUCK ON BUSY ROAD IN DETROIT IN THE DARK WITH CARS SWERVING TO AVOID ME. IDENTIFIED AS THE SPLINE ON THE TORQUE CONVERTER. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 MERCURY SABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING FAILED IN HER VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT A FAULTY CAL GASKET CAUSED FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE MOTOR BLOWER, WHICH WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MOTOR BLOWER WAS REPLACED AT THE COST OF $528. THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. W/O WARNING NO PREVIOUS CAR PROBLEMS, REGULAR VEHICLE CHECK-UPS AND THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP THAT IT IS THE CONVERTER. AFTER CALLING THAT SHOP AND A FORD DEALERSHIP THEY ALL HAVE HAD STORIES ABOUT THIS PIECE GOING OUT IN THE TRANSMISSION AND BASICALLY INDICATED THAT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION OR A REBUILT ONE.
