THED OUTER TIE ROD ON THE RIGHT FRONT TURNING WHEEL FELL OFF WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. THE TIEROD ENDS NEED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE NOTE THAT A WARNING LETTER WAS SENT OUT FOR THIS PROBLEM ON MY 1998 F150 BUT NONE ON THIS VRHICLE. IT WAS RELATED TO CORROSION. I WILL SAVE THE OLD PART. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE NEGOTIATING A CURVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATISTRAFFIC OR EVEN WORSE.*AK

CONTACTED THE DEALER SAID THERE IS NO RECALL, CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING CAUSE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. WATER CAN GET DOWN IN THE SWITCH AND COMBINATION OF AGE CAN CREATE A PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A SOLID COVER OVER THIS. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE FITTING THAT CONNECTS THE HEATER LINE TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD FRACTURED AND DETACHED. AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE OVER HEATED. THE CONTACT SAW STEAM COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DETERMINED THE TIME HAD EXPIRED FOR THE 7 YEAR REPLACEMENT FOR A FREE REMEDY.
