Owner report 11453499 · 2022-02-22 (February 22, 2022)
Rear view camera control module broken. This causes rear view camera to be stuck in the housing and inoperable, so this is a safety issue. The rear view camera system was installed improperly. Instead of in the rear door panel, the control module was installed in the right side D panel. Additionally, it was not secured properly but was just placed loosely in a plastic bag. Rear view camera system available for inspection upon request. I know for a fact that this is the case with other new 2020 Mercedes Metris. Additional information avai…

After one year of ownership, purchased used from dealer with 40 miles) I have to replace control unit due to the location of the unit in the car developing mold from condensation. Is a common problem, is widely discussed on the internet, and MBZ does not cover under warranty. The repair is to replace the unit ($2,700 in labor/parts) and place a plastic bag over the new unit.

It has been inspected by a Merecedes service center, see the enclosed repair estimate. No warning ,a bell dinged a red servic…
