TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION ON A 2007 MERCEDES BENZ E WAS SURGING. WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH ONCE REACHING 2000 RPM THE ENGINE WOULD INSTANTANEOUSLY SURGE TO 3000 RPM WITHIN MOMENTS AND THEN RETURNED TO THE PREVIOUS READING. SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD A DIESEL ENGINE THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD, AND SKID ON ICE. 2007 MERCEDES-BENZ E320. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE ENGINE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. AFTER THREE DAYS, THE DEALER FINALLY CALLED THE CONSUMER AND INFORMED HIM THE TURBO CAME APART AND FLEW INTO THE ENGINE. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REBUILT AT A COST OF $13,000. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCEDES BENZ E320. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SHIFTING GEARS, THE GEAR SHIFTER JERKED AND COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. THE CONTACT TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK MY 2007 MERCEDES BENZ BLUTECH TO THE DEALER FOR THE ONCE A YEAR "B" SERVICE. WHILE THEY WERE DOING THE SERVICE, THEY NOTICED DIESEL FUEL LEAKING BEHIND THE LEFT REAR TIRE. I HAD THEM PERFORM AN INSPECTION FOR $135 AND THEY DETERMINED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE LEFT FUEL LEVEL SENDER AREA WITH NO VISUAL DAMAGE. THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING LEFT TANK SEAL AND INSPECTING TANK AND SENSOR FOR CRACKS FOR $368. WHILE DRIVING, NORMAL ACCELERATION LAGGED MORE THAN USUAL. WHEN I SUBMITTED CAR FOR SERVICE, I WAS TOLD FOAM AROUND INJECTORS HAS MELTED INTO THE INJECTORS. BOUGHT CAR NEW AND LOVE IT. BUT LAST WEEK THE RIGHT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FAILED. I HAD LEFT AND RIGHT H7 STANDARD LOW BEAM HALOGEN BULBS CHANGED SINCE THE FRONT BUMPER HAS TO BE REMOVED. LATER THAT DAY THE NEW LEFT SIDE H7 FAILED. SO MY MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT THE HELLA LIGHT FIXTURE SEEN IN MB, BMW, ETC.. COMMONLY HAVE PREMATURE DISINTEGRATION OF WIRING INSULATION. 19V918000 · Visibility:Sun/Moon Roof Assembly
Reported: 2019-12-20 (December 20, 2019)
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2001-2011 vehicles. The bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame may deteriorate, possibly resulting in the glass panel detaching from the vehicle. Consequence: A detached glass panel can separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the glass panel bonding and replace the sliding roof, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 10, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2020040011.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2006-2007 C350, C230, C280, CLK350, E320CDI, E350 Wagon, E350, 2006 C55 AMG, CLK500, CLS500, CLS55 AMG, E500 Wagon, E500, E55 AMG, 2007 CLK550, CLS550, CLS63 AMG, E550, E63 AMG, and E63 Wagon AMG vehicles. The bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame may deteriorate, possibly causing the glass panel to detach from the vehicle.
Consequence: A detached glass panel can separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the glass panel bonding and replace the sliding roof, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 7, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. This recall is an expansion of recall number 19V-918. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2021040012.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2001-2011 C-Class, CLK, E-Class, and CLS vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle model details. The glass sunroof panel may not be properly secured and may detach.
Consequence: A detached sunroof panel may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the sunroof panel as necessary free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 3, 2023. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. This recall expands NHTSA recall number 19V-918. MBUSA's numbers for this recall are 2023010004, 2023010005, and 2023010006.
