2007 Mercedes Benz C230: complaints, problems and recalls

I WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY 50 IN SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, IN A 2007 C230 MERCEDES BENZ, WHEN I RAN OVER AN OBJECT. THE RIGHT REAR TIRE IMMEDIATELY WENT FLAT. I DROVE TO A TIRE FACILITY AND HAD THE TIRE EXCHANGED FOR THE SPARE. THE TIRE FACILITY SUGGESTED I TAKE THE CAR TO MERCEDES BENZ. ON THE WAY TO MERCEDES BENZ I STOPPED AT AN AUTOMOBILE REPAIR SHOP AND HAD THE TIRE AND RIM INSPECTED. THE MIDDLE OF THE RIM WAS CRACKED AND RUPTURED. I WAS DRIVING MY THREE MONTH OLD 07 MERCEDES BENZ C230 SPORT SEDAN. I HAD 1 PASSENGER WITH ME AND I ENTERED THE INTERSECTION IN THE#1 LANE AND I FELT AN IMPACT TO THE DRIVER DOOR AS THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I STEERED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT , CAUSING THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TO FISHTAIL IN THE ISLAND. AS I WENT ACROSS THE LANES I STEERED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID THE FRONT END. THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE DRIVING MY 2007MERCEDESBENZ.5TH TIME. I LEASED A MBENZ 2007 C230W FROM BILL USSERY MERCEDES JANUARY 2007.2 WEEKS FROM PURCHASE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO SERVICE TOLD THEM THE CAR WOULD SHAKE VIGOROUSLY WHEN PRESSING ON BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN FROM 40MPH OR MORE. COMBINATION PROBLEM THE WIPERS ARE NOT COMMONLY AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF THE DEALER. THEY HAVE A FITTER THAT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE USUAL SUPPLY OF REPLACEMENTS. THERE ARE NO DEALERS IN THE COLUMBIA GORGE. A DAUGHTER HAD ONE OF HER WIPERS ICE UP AND FALL OFF WHILE TRAVERSING THE COLUMBIA GORGE ONE SNOWY EVE. SHE REPLACED IT AT A ROADSIDE SERVICE STATION. THIS WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE IF IT HAD HAPPENED WITH THIS MERCEDES. HAVING A BAD WIPER BLADE IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE WITH ME.

Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.

Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy: MBUSA will their notify owners, and Fiat Chrysler will notify the affected Chrysler owners. Dealers for the respective brands will replace the driver's frontal air bag module, free of charge. This recall began November 2016. Mercedes-Benz owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and Chrysler owners may contact Fiat Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2001-2011 vehicles. The bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame may deteriorate, possibly resulting in the glass panel detaching from the vehicle. Consequence: A detached glass panel can separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the glass panel bonding and replace the sliding roof, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 10, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2020040011.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2006-2007 C350, C230, C280, CLK350, E320CDI, E350 Wagon, E350, 2006 C55 AMG, CLK500, CLS500, CLS55 AMG, E500 Wagon, E500, E55 AMG, 2007 CLK550, CLS550, CLS63 AMG, E550, E63 AMG, and E63 Wagon AMG vehicles. The bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame may deteriorate, possibly causing the glass panel to detach from the vehicle.
